Step-by-step Guide (All sizes)

Trampoline Assembly – Step-by-step Guide

Your new Jumpflex has arrived! Now it is time to assemble it and get jumping! The approximate assembly time is 1 – 2 hours. It is much easier and faster if two people assemble the trampoline, but it can certainly be assembled by one person. All the tools required to assemble the trampoline are provided and a basic level of assembly skill is needed to undertake the assembly. You can view a video guide for installation here. You can also see the complete instructions here.

Where to place your trampoline – Choosing the best location

  • Ensure the trampoline is set up on a level surface.
  • We recommend a minimum 8-metre (26 ft) overhead clearance from ground level.
  • A 100-cm clearance from obstacles such as walls, structures, fences, or other play areas is also ideal.
  • Watch for potential hazards such as tree limbs or wires.
  • The trampoline must not be used in gusty or severe winds.

Before You Start, Check All Parts!

See our PDF Parts List for a full list of the parts that should come with your trampoline.

Step 1 – Connect Silver Top Rail Poles

Join the curved top rail poles in lots of 2, as shown above.

Note:

8ft trampolines = 3 pairs (6 top rails)

10ft trampolines = 4 pairs (8 top rails)

12ft trampolines = 4 pairs (8 top rails)

14ft trampolines = 5 pairs (10 top rails)

15ft trampolines = 5 pairs (10 top rails)

Step 2 – Connect Trampoline Legs & Feet

Connect the black w-shaped poles with the short straight black poles. Make sure the silver spring button clip is aligned and clicks into place, securing the poles together. Assemble all the w-shaped poles as shown. These will be the legs and feet of the trampoline.

Note:

8ft trampolines = have 3 feet rails

10ft trampolines = have 4 feet rails

12ft trampolines = have 4 feet rails

14ft trampolines = have 5 feet rails

15ft trampolines = have 5 feet rails

Step 3 – Connect Trampoline Legs and Feet

Take the assembled u-shaped component (trampoline legs and feet) and connect each end into the paired top rails.

Complete this for all pieces.

Note:

Insert the two shafts evenly and at the same time for ease of assembly.

Step 4 – Assemble Safety Net Poles

Take the curved poles with the black foam and connect them in pairs - one black pole and one silver pole in each pair.

Note:

8ft trampolines = 6 assembled poles

10ft trampolines = 8 assembled poles

12ft trampolines = 8 assembled poles

14ft trampolines = 10 assembled poles

15ft trampolines = 10 assembled poles

Step 5 – Slide PVC Sleeves over Safety Net Poles

Slide the open end of the black PVC sleeves, over the top of each completed curved safety net pole (top = plastic cap).

Note:

Make sure the foam does not slide down the pole. Squeeze the foam against the pole while pulling down the black sleeve. Once the sleeve is on, make sure the foam is flush with the top of the pole.

Step 6 – Attach Safety Net Poles to the Top Rail and Feet

Using the provided bolts, attach the safety net poles to the straight leg poles.

Note:

Attach the bolts in this order:

  1. Bolt
  2. Washer
  3. Safety net pole
  4. Black spacer
  5. Leg pole
  6. Washer
  7. Nut

Step 7 – Check The Webbing Strip

When attaching the safety net poles to the top rail and feet component, ensure the small webbing strip is facing away from the curve, as shown.

Step 8 – Attach All The Safety Net Poles

Attach all the safety net poles to the top rail and feet components as shown.

Step 9 – Secure The Bottom Of The Black Sleeves

Secure the bottom of the black sleeve by feeding the webbing length under and around the bottom of the safety net pole. Lock the webbing in place by securing the plastic buckle.

Step 10 – Connect the Top Rail and Leg components

Connect the top rail and leg components to create the complete ring of your trampoline.

Note:

This step is easier to complete with two people. One person can hold the components, while the other person connects them. Take caution to ensure the parts don’t fall over.

Step 11 – Frame Complete!

You will now have the complete framing of your trampoline connected.

Step 12 – Connect Springs to the Top Rail Frame

Now, hook all the springs to the top rail frame.

Note:Hook the end of the spring with the larger open hook to the frame.

Make sure the springs are on the inside of the trampoline ring.

The trampoline should now look like this the entire way around:

Step 13 – Attach the Jump Mat

Locate a spring to the right of a Safety Net pole and attach this spring to the Jump Mat D-Ring (attach the small hook end of the spring to the Jump Mat)

Move to the next Safety Net pole and attach the spring to the right of that pole to the corresponding Jump Mat D-Ring. You will need to count the number of D-Rings on the Jump Mat to make sure the number is equal to the number of Frame attachment points.

Continue round until you have attached a spring to the Jump Mat to the right of each Safety Net pole, as shown above.

TIP: The easiest way to attach the springs is to:

  1. Ensure the spring is first attached to the Mat
  2. Using your body weight, use the spring tool to pull the spring from the Mat.
  3. Place other hand on the frame for support.

Note:

8ft and 10ft models - 8 springs between safety poles

12ft and 14ft models - 9 springs between safety poles

15ft models - 10 springs between safety poles

Step 14 – Attach the Rest of the Springs to the Jump Mat

In intervals, attach another spring to the Jump Mat next to each spring already in place from the previous step.

Remember to work safely – first, attach each spring to the Jump Mat, then pull it towards you with the Spring tool and hook it back onto the frame.

Follow the sequence as illustrated.

Note:

It is essential to attach the springs equally around the entire frame, to ensure even distribution of tension during the assembly process.

Following the same process, attach the next group of springs beside the springs you just attached. You will now have groups of 3 springs attached to the frame and Jump Mat.

Continue attaching the springs in groups around the trampoline, until all springs are attached to the frame and Jump Mat.

Step 15 – Place Padding on the Trampoline

Lay the spring padding around the perimeter of the trampoline, so it sits atop the springs. Make sure you align the green panel between the safety net poles as shown. This will be where you position the zip and ladder entrance.

Step 16 – Secure Padding with Springs

On the underside of the spring padding, there are stitched loops. Find the springs that are beneath these loops and remove them temporarily to push through the loops as pictured. Reattach the spring to the Mat, and then to the frame using the spring tool. Do this for each loop.

Step 17 – Secure Padding with Webbing Straps

Find the webbing straps underneath the spring pad and tie these to the trampoline frame. Continue tying every webbing strap to secure the pad to the frame.

Step 18 – Attach the Top of the Safety Net to the Poles

Firstly locate the Zip entrance on the Safety Net, this needs to be positioned in the middle of the green panel on the spring pad (as pictured). Then using a step ladder, start at the net zip and locate the net pockets on either side of the zip. Slide these pockets over the top of the safety net poles to the left and right of the green panel.

While pushing the pole up into the pocket, ensure the foam remains flush with the top of the safety net pole.

Ensure the zip runs perfectly straight up and down (vertically).

Step 19 – Feed Velcro Tags Through Webbing Loop

Feed each Velcro tag down through the webbing loop on the safety net pole, as illustrated.

Note:

Push your finger through the webbing loop to open it – this will make it easier to feed through the Velcro.

Step 20 – Secure the Safety Net with the Velcro Tags

Fold the Velcro back up and onto itself to secure it. Do this on every pole to finish attaching the net.

Note:

Make sure each net pocket is attached to the correct safety net pole. If the pockets are connected to the wrong pole on the left or right, the net may become twisted.

Step 21 – Prepare To Attach Safety Net

Once you have hung the net from the top of the safety net poles (as shown), it is now time to connect the bottom of the net to the Springs and Jump Mat.

Step 22 – Align the Safety Net Zip to the Jump Mat

Then starting from the zip on the net, centre the zip so it is hanging vertically, straight up and down over the middle of the green panel on the spring pad (as shown above). Then locate the metal ring below the zip and align this ring with the D-Ring on the Jump Mat. Counting the springs between the Safety Net poles to the left and right can help locate the exact centre point.

Step 23 – Attach The Safety Net to the Jump Mat

Feed the net ring through the Jump Mat D-Ring, then hook the net ring onto the spring.

Continue around the bottom of the net, attaching each Net ring through the Jump Mat D-Ring and onto the Spring until all Net rings are attached.

Step 24 – Congratulations!

You have finished assembling your Jumpflex trampoline.

Safety Instructions

1. Read all instructions before using the trampoline.

2. Allow only one person on the trampoline at any time. Use by more than one person at the same time can result in serious injury.

3. Use the trampoline only with mature adult supervision at all times.

4. Inspect the trampoline before each use. Make sure the frame padding is correctly and securely positioned. Replace any worn, defective, or missing parts.

5. Keep objects away that could interfere with the user. Maintain a clear area around, above, and under the trampoline.

6. Misuse and abuse of the trampoline is dangerous and can cause serious injuries.

7. Focus your eyes on the edge of the trampoline. This will help control your bounce.

8. Avoid bouncing for too long. Do not bounce when tired.

9. Stop your bounce by flexing your knees as your feet come in contact with the trampoline bed. Learn this skill before you attempt any others.

10. Climb on and off the trampoline - do not jump. Jumping from the trampoline to the ground is dangerous. Similarly, do not run and leap onto the trampoline.

11. Never use springs or extension elements as ‘hand grips’.

12. Avoid bouncing too high. Stay low until you can control your bounce and repeatedly land in the centre of the trampoline.

13. Do not use the trampoline as a springboard to other objects. Use the trampoline only for trampoline style bouncing.

14. It is advisable not to bounce immediately after a meal.

15. Do not attempt knee drops. This can cause injury if you attempt this skill without some experience or personal instruction.

16. Your clothing should allow plenty of freedom of movement, but loose clothing is discouraged.

17. No buckles or jewellery should be worn, as these could damage the trampoline mat and cause injury to the jumpers.

18. Do not wear shoes while bouncing on the trampoline unless they are designed specifically for use on a trampoline.

19. Remove ladder when it is not in use to prevent young children falling and injuring themselves.

20. Avoid bringing any miscellaneous items onto the trampoline.

22. Refrain from eating or drinking on the trampoline to avoid spillages and potential injury as a result.

23. Remember to wear suitably sun-protective clothing, sunscreen and a hat (soft, not hard) to avoid becoming sunburned.

24. For further information or additional instructional materials, contact Jumpflex or your nearest trampoline club.

25. Jumpflex does not condone pets to be on the trampoline at any time, as sharp claws may also cause damage to the safety netting, jumping mat, or safety padding of the trampoline.

Your trampoline is a substantial investment for the enjoyment of your family, and it must be noted that improper use or lack of care can lead to early deterioration. Please follow all of the points be- low to ensure your product lasts as long as possible.

General Care

1. We strongly recommend cleaning your Jumpflex Trampoline and accessories every month with warm soapy water. When dirt and other particles are left to build up on the trampoline, this can cause wear and tear to accelerate.

2. When your trampoline is not going to be used for a long period of time, it is best to store it out of the weather.

3. Protect and secure your trampolines in extreme weather such as strong winds, hail and light- ning. An effective way to prevent damage under these extreme circumstances is to cover the trampoline with an appropriate protective cover and to secure the trampoline to the ground to avoid it being moved by strong winds.

4. Inspect the trampoline before each use and replace any worn, defective, or missing parts.

Safety Padding

5. Dirt and dust build up on the Safety Pad if left with accelerate the deterioration of the Padding. Your Safety Padding should be cleaned once a month with warm soapy water.

6. Trampoline safety padding is made from highly water resistant and UV-resistant material to withstand sun exposure. The safety padding is designed to be able to be drained in the event water becomes trapped inside, as this can accelerate the deterioration of the padding. If water becomes trapped, lift the pads from the inside edge to drain the water out.

7. Safety padding must be kept loose above the springs. Under no circumstances should the safe- ty padding be leaned on, sat on, or stood on. This weight applies direct contact to the springs and can cause ripping in the safety pads and/or injury.

8. In areas that experience extreme cold, remove and store the safety pads indoor in winter. This will prevent any possible cracking due to sub-zero temperatures.

9. Under no circumstances should any object hotter than 120 degrees Fahrenheit or 48 degrees Celsius come into contact with any part of the safety padding. High temperatures may result in melting or burning of the padding material and extreme temperatures may cause the padding to catch fire.

10. Rainwater, if not wiped off, may result in spots forming from residue left from the water as it dries. Any water applied to clean the surface must be wiped dry with a clean cloth or chamois and not left to dry in the sun.

Safety net

1. Inspect the trampoline enclosure before each use.

2. Prolonged exposure of the safety net of UV rays from the sun can lead to a shortened lifespan of the material. During the winter months or when the trampoline will not be in use for a long time, e.g. winter or storm seasons, remove the safety net and store indoors in a cool dry place out of sunlight.

3. The user of the trampoline must not have any solid or sharp objects present on their person while using the trampoline. These foreign objects may cause damage to the safety netting, jumping Mat or safety padding.

4. Always check for any defects in the safety netting poles before using your trampoline.

5. Regularly check that the safety netting pole bolt assembly remain in a working state, are completely fastened and are tight.

6. The safety net must be in use at all times.
