Trampolines are great for encouraging creative play.  In this article we share some of our favourite fun trampoline games here at Jumpflex.

As always, please bounce responsibly and stay within your limits, and have a parent or guardian present when children are on the trampoline.

Trampoline Games and Activities for younger kids

Poison ball - The aim of the game is to avoid touching the ball as you bounce around. Add more balls over time to increase the challenge. Can be played as an elimination game with groups.  Best with small, soft balls to avoid injury to young bouncers. 

Teddy Bear's Picnic - Grab a bunch of Teddy's, and whatever else you need, and set up a wonderful picnic on the Trampoline.  Experience tells us that though this often starts out fairly relaxed, at some point it usually turns into bouncing chaos with bears flying everywhere!

Build-A-Fort - All it takes is a few blankets or sheets and some imagination, and the trampoline can become a marvellous castle or a magical cave.  

Chalk Time - The jumping mat makes a great writing surface.  Use play chalk to make clean up easy - just hose the jumping mat down when the artists have moved on.

Trampoline Games and Activities for older children

TRAMP - Just like a game of HORSE in basketball. One player does a trick and the other players have to replicate it. Fail the trick and get a letter. First player to get all five letters T-R-A-M-P is eliminated.

Grab challenge - This one uses the FlexBoard™. Familiarise yourself with the basic grabs from snowboarding or skateboarding. One player straps into the board, the other player calls out random grabs which the 1st player has to complete. If a grab is missed or done incorrectly, the players swap roles.

Crack the egg - One person sits cross legged and grabs their feet with their hands (or similar pose), becoming an egg. The objective is for others to bounce the egg around until they crack, i.e. let go of their feet to regain their balance.

These are just a few ideas to get you started.  Your imagination is really the only limit when it comes to fun games on the trampoline.
