Flynn Gunther | Jumpflex Athlete

Flynn comes from Christchurch and joined the sport of competitive Trampolining in 2017 as an 8 year old, and quickly discovered his love of jumping, performing skills and competing

He was a committed athlete and enjoyed progressing quickly from local age level competitions in New Zealand, to being selected at age 9 to represent New Zealand at the 2018 Australian Gymnastics competition

His efforts were also profiled that year in local newspapers, and on NZ children’s television programme “What Now” in July this year.

Flynn is looking forward to challenging himself, and his abilities, and continues his journey to rise through the qualification ranks and many qualifiers, with the eventual goal of being able to represent his country at the highest level of the sport. He has his eye set firmly on the LA2028 Olympics.

In his spare time Flynn loves outdoor sports especially mountain biking and scootering. He is also a saxophonist in the school jazz band, is an avid reader, and swimming and playing video games.

Flynn currently trains 10 hours a week at Olympia Gymnastics in Christchurch under 2021 NZ Olympic Coach Alexander Nilov.

    • 2019 - Trampoline Gymnastics World Age Group Competition - 11/12 Years - 8th (Synchronized)

    • 2019 - New Zealand Gymnastics Championships - Youth International - 2nd (Individual)

    • 2019 - Australian Gymnastics Championships - U13 2nd (Individual), Youth U15 - 6th (Synchronized)

    • 2021 - New Zealand Gymnastics Championships - Sub Junior International - 1st (Individual), 1st (Synchronized)
