Brie Bennett aged 17, was born in Hamilton but has spent most of her life in the famous small town of Raglan, New Zealand.
She Started her surfing in 2014 at eleven years old. Her father took her down to the popular Ngaranui beach and pushed her into her first wave. From that day on she found real love and passion for surfing.
She entered her very first surfing competition which was the last national one for the year and placed 3rd.
Brie showed her parents her dedication, discipline, and determination, going out in the middle of winter in a spring suit, bearing the cold water temperatures determined to get better with her surfing. She was being noticed by the surfing industry, and sponsorship soon followed. Rip Curl made Brie a part of their team, Brie’s dream was to be sponsored by them, so she was stoked. Brie became the number 1 under 14s female junior champion for that year, and it was only the beginning for her exciting journey which was to come.
